WHO ARE WE

We are Selam and Andiy. After Natnael passed away we wanted to continue his task of teaching children about their country of origin and helping families to find their stories.
This blog is to teach the children that go abroad something about their birth country and to give to the adoptive parents a way to search the biological family of their child.

Is important what you tell your children about themselves.

ALCOHOL DRINKS

In Ethiopia, as in many other countries, there are some local drinks with alcohol.

In Ethiopia they are the following ones:

TELLA. The softer one is a kind of beer made from grain fermented, the color is dark and is somehow like beer, is a bit sour and easy to drink.

TEJ. This one is made from fermented honey and water and some plants to give good taste, is a bit more alcoholic. Is a nice orange color and is served cold in a rounded bottles with a thin neck.

HARAKE. This one is the harder one, our local “gin” or “tequila” somehow. Transparent and served in small glasses.
